1. Introduction

Nottee app is a service that helps users to record their thoughts and daily happenings with typing and sound, and relive those special moments with all the emotions and context intact.

a. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may change this Privacy Policy from time to time for various reasons such as improving the processing procedures of user's personal information, reflecting changes to the services provided by us, or complying with relevant laws and regulations.

2. Purpose

This Privacy Policy explains how we process and protect user's personal information, and outlines the rights and options that users have regarding their personal information. This policy applies to the personal information collected by us when using the App.

3. Types of Personal Information

a. Usage Analytics for Service Improvement

We collect, use, and transfer information for the purpose of analyzing usage patterns and error data to find ways to provide better service to users. The information collected does not contain any personal identification details.

1. i. Device Information and Log Files: We collect basic information on the usage such as the type of user's device (mobile or computer), the OS type and version, service usage history, country, language, program installation and major feature execution. This information is collected solely for the purpose of improving and updating the service and is not used for any other purposes.
2. ii. Information and Reporting on Errors: If the app crashes or stops working, we may collect error reporting information to investigate and improve service stability for future updates. As part of the error reporting, we receive information such as device type and version, device identifier, time of the error, the feature being used at the time of the error, and the state of the application at the time of the error. We do not use this information for any purposes other than error investigation and correction.

b. User-Generated Content

User-generated content is never used for any purposes other than improving the user experience. The following outlines how user-related data and content may be used:

1. i. User Email: When a user signs up, their email address is collected for authentication and login. This email is used to associate the user’s content for backup and synchronization across devices. We may also send updates or important notices to this email address, with an option to unsubscribe at any time.
2. ii. Notes and note-related data: Notes, tags, and other user-generated content are backed up to prevent accidental loss or deletion. This content may also be used to sync data across multiple devices and to deliver personalized in-app notifications.

4. How We Disclose Information

a. Information Disclosed to Third Parties

This Privacy Policy addresses only our use and disclosure of information we collect from and/or about you on our services including the App. If you disclose information to others, the use and disclosure restrictions contained in this Privacy Policy will not apply to any third party. We do not control the privacy policies of third parties, and you are subject to the privacy policies of those third parties where applicable.

b. Controlling Your Information

When a user logs into the app using their email, the notes, tags, and other user-generated content may be stored both on the local device and in remote data storage. If the app is used without logging in, all user data will be stored only on the local device.

c. Request For Removal

Data stored on the local device can be removed by signing out or uninstalling the app. If you wish to delete all data associated with your account stored in the remote data storage, please contact us using the email address of your account. Your request will be processed within one month.

d. Backup of User-Generated Content

From the moment users create accounts and sign in with their emails, the app automatically backs up user-generated content to the remote data storage while a device is online. If the user does not log in, all data is stored only on the local device and may not be recoverable if lost.

5. Third Party

This app uses the following third-party modules to analyze users' usage behavior for App improvement and updates, and to provide proper services such as cross-device sync:

a. Google Analytics

1. i. Company: Google Inc.
2. ii. Purpose: To measure marketing performance, improve quality.
3. iii. Provided Information: Non-personally identifiable mobile device identifiers, data on app usage via cookies and similar technologies, will be transmitted to Google servers. Please refer to the following link to review Google's policy on personal information collection and processing. Based on the collected information, Google will provide the company with comparative analysis of service application usage patterns, which the company will use solely for improving service quality.

b. Supabase

1. i. Company: Supabase Inc.
2. ii. Purpose: To authenticate users and manage sessions, to back up notes and note-related data safely, and to sync user-generated content securely across devices.
3. iii. Provided Information: When a user signs up and logs into the app using their email address, that email is provided to Supabase for authentication and session management. In addition, the content created by the user—such as notes, tags, and associated metadata—is stored securely on Supabase’s infrastructure to support backup and cross-device synchronization. Device identifiers and timestamps related to user actions may also be processed in order to maintain data consistency and sync stability. All data is stored securely and is used solely for the purpose of operating the Nottee service.
